TempleForge ("TempleForge," "we," "us," or "our") operates the TempleForge mobile application (the "App"), a fitness tracking and social training platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information. Email address and authentication credentials. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier (and, if you choose to share it, name/email relay) that Apple provides.
- Profile information. Display name, username, optional bio, current goal, gym name, and an optional avatar image you upload.
- Fitness data you enter. Workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, durations, distances, personal records, training programs and plans, notes, and optional body metrics (e.g., body weight, height) that you choose to record.
- Social content (user-generated content). Posts, captions, comments, reactions, challenges, training groups (names/descriptions), program reviews, and any other content you create or share with others.
- Reports and moderation data. If you report content or are the subject of a report, we process the report, related content references, and moderation outcomes.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage and app activity. Features used and in-app events necessary to operate the App (for example, computing your "TF Score," streaks, and progress analytics from your own data).
- Device tokens. If you enable notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token to deliver push notifications.
- Approximate technical data. Standard information necessary to deliver network requests (such as timestamps) handled by our backend provider.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App does not request the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not perform such tracking.
1.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not access Apple Health / HealthKit.
- We do not access your Contacts, Camera, or precise location.
- Avatar and program-cover images are chosen via Apple's system photo picker or generated on-device via Apple Image Playground; we do not receive general access to your photo library.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Provide core functionality: log and display workouts, programs, personal records, progress analytics, achievements, and your TF Score.
- Provide social features you opt into: feed, profiles, following, challenges, training groups, and leaderboards, subject to your privacy settings.
- Operate content moderation and safety (see Section 5), including automated text screening and on-device sensitive-image screening, processing reports, and enforcing our Community Guidelines.
- Deliver notifications you enable.
- Process and manage subscriptions (see Section 4).
- Promote and market the App, which may include featuring content, programs, or profile information you have shared (see our Terms of Use for the license you grant us).
- Develop, train, test, and improve our features, models, and technologies, including machine learning and artificial intelligence systems.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and comply with legal obligations.
We process this data to perform our contract with you, to pursue our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, to comply with law, and—where required—based on your consent.
3. How Your Information Is Shared
- With other users. Social content and profile information you create are visible to others according to your visibility and privacy settings (for example, public vs. followers-only accounts, and leaderboard participation). Content you mark private remains private to you.
- Service providers.
- Cloud hosting — we use a third-party cloud hosting provider for our database, authentication, file storage (e.g., avatar images), and server functions. Data is stored on infrastructure located in the United States.
- Apple — for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and subscription management (StoreKit), and push notification delivery (APNs). Apple's on-device frameworks (Sensitive Content Analysis, Image Playground) run locally on your device.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
- Business transfers. If TempleForge is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
TempleForge offers an optional Pro subscription and a one-time Lifetime purchase through the Apple App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details. We receive and store transaction identifiers and subscription status (for example, product purchased, transaction ID, renewal/expiration, and founding-member status) to grant and manage your entitlements. Subscription management and cancellation are handled in your Apple ID / App Store settings.
5. Content Moderation and Safety
Because TempleForge includes user-generated content, we operate safety systems that process content you submit:
- Automated text screening of certain fields (such as posts, comments, profiles, program names, group names, challenge titles, and reviews) against a prohibited-terms list.
- On-device sensitive-image screening of avatar uploads using Apple's Sensitive Content Analysis, which runs locally on your device.
- Reporting and moderator review, including a moderation queue, audit log of actions, and enforcement actions (warnings, content removal, suspension, or ban).

6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. We retain certain records (such as moderation actions, transaction records, or data required by law) for longer where necessary for safety, legal, accounting, or security purposes. When you delete your account (Section 8), we delete or de-identify your personal data as described below.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) and database row-level security to restrict access to your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update. You can view and edit your profile and most data in the App.
- Privacy controls. You can set your account to followers-only, opt out of leaderboards, manage notification preferences, and block or report other users.
- Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This triggers deletion of your server-side data, including your profile, social content (posts and comments), follows/blocks, notifications, device tokens, subscription records, preferences, avatar image, and associated fitness data, and it deletes your authentication record. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@templeforge.fit. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children's Privacy
TempleForge is not intended for or directed to anyone under 16 (or older where required by your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe someone under the minimum age has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International Users
We operate the App and store data in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
